Water and Lights, charming night cruise along the inner canals of Padua

• 9,00 p.m.: embarkation at the Porte Contarine Lock, in the historical centre of Padua, and cruise along a charming itinerary along the river between inner canals, flanking the ancient Venetian walls dating back to the Renaissance. The itinerary passes under the bridge of Corso del Popolo flanking the Gardens of the Roman Arena. Cruising continues passing by the former abattoir, dating back to the 19th century by Giuseppe Jappelli, cruising by the 16th century walls, passing by the university citadel up to Portello, the most important river port during the Venetian domination with its beautiful stairway dating back to the 1500' that was depicted in a painting by Canaletto and its magnificent gates in Istria stone. Once again flanking the walls the tour reaches the ancient Bulwark of Castelnuovo.
  The boat's powerful floodlights will light up the monuments that are visible from the river.
  Viewing the walls, the bastions and the luxuriant vegetation, the boat reaches the old Graissi Bridge where it turns around to go back, along the same way, to Porte Contarine Lock; end of the tour around 10.30 p.m.
